In exactly 1 year I will be on day 1 of my 3 day challenge.
I have had my doubts, I mean can I really ride 100Km in a day followed by a 2nd day of just over 100Km, then a 3rd day getting to the summit of Snowdon!!!
Then I remember the fight that Anne has gone through over the last 12 months and a realisation that I will feel the pain and be out of breath. My body won’t feel like doing any more, but after 3 days I can rest and recover. Whereas Anne and other cancer patients have to live through the pain for a year or more.
I have the easy bit, all I have to do is get as fit as I can over the next 365 days and build up the staying power to make the experience as much fun as possible.
My training is coming on. Today I did 2 rides back to back. The first was solo:
- 24.3km / 188 metres climbing in 1 hour 27 minutes
- 37.7km / 341 metres climbing in 3 hours 57 minutes
- 62km / 529 metres climbing (which is not enough) in 5 1/2 hours
